    Misano’s scorching heat didn’t stop Marciello, who joined Team AKKA ASP to race in the third stage of the GT World Challenge Sprint alongside teammate Boguslavskiy. During Thursday’s tests, Marciello placed the Mercedes-AMG no 88 high in the standings despite a subpar BOP (Balance Of Performance), and the team managed to find a good setup.

    After Friday’s free sessions, Boguslavskiy grabbed an eight place in qualifying on Saturday – a good result for the Russian among professional drivers. In the race that followed, he drove during the first half hour, and lost a position before handing the wheel to Marciello. The Ticino driver flew up to fifth thanks to a series of well-timed overtakings, and managed to bring home important points.

    On Sunday, he finished qualifying in fifth, and first among the Mercedes on the track. He kept the fifth position in the first half of the race, after which Boguslavskiy, thanks to a perfect strategy and a flawless pit-stop, got back on the track in second and stayed there until he crossed the finish line. A well-deserved result for the duo, and a good loot of points which will prove precious in the overall championship.

    Marciello will be racing again next weekend at Zandvoort, where he will join Team Landgraf for the Adac GT Masters.

    SECONDO POSTO PER MARCIELLO NELLA GARA SPRINT DI MISANO


    In un caldo torrido si é svolto il terzo appuntamento del GT World Challenge Sprint presso il tracciato di Misano. Raffaele Marciello, come d’abitudine, ha corso con il Team AKKA-ASP a bordo della Mercedes AMG GT3 numero 88, affiancando il Russo Boguslavskiy.

    Giovedì, giornata di test, ha permesso di mettere a punto un buon set-up, piazzando la Mercedes-AMG numero 88 costantemente nelle parti alte della classifica, nonostante un BOP (Balance Of Performance) non ottimale per il weekend.

    Trascorsa la giornata di Venerdì, dedicata alle prove libere, Sabato mattina i motori si sono accesi per le prove di qualificazione dove il Russo ha concluso in ottava posizione, ottimo risultato per lui tra piloti professionisti. Nella gara del pomeriggio, in partenza, Boguslavskiy ha perso una posizione nelle fasi di partenza, chiudendo poi la propria mezz’ora di guida in nona piazza. Dato il volante a Raffaele, il Ticinese é riuscito con dei bei sorpassi a risalire sino alla quinta piazza, accumulando punti importanti in ottica campionato.

    Domenica mattina, nella seconda qualifica del weekend, Marciello ha chiuso in quinta posizione, primo tra le vetture di casa Mercedes AMG. In gara, Raffaele ha mantenuto la posizione per l’intera mezz’ora di gara, prima di consegnare la vettura al russo Boguslavskiy che, complice una strategia ed un pit stop perfetti, é riuscito a rientrare in pista in seconda posizione, mantenendola sino alla fine.
    Secondo posto dunque più che meritato per il duo Italo-Russo che ha incassato punti importanti soprattutto in ottica campionato overall.

    Terminato questo appuntamento, Marciello sarà impegnato già il prossimo weekend presso il circuito di Zandvoort, questa volta per l’Adac GT Masters con il Team Landgraf.
