MARCIELLO’S SECOND PLACE REOPENS THE CHAMPIONSHIP
Marciello, a Mercedes-AMG veteran of the GT category, was called by Team Landgraff to join Maxi Buhk behind the wheel of the Mann-Filter sponsored AMG GT3 no 70 in the Adac GT Masters. Raffaele last raced at Zandvoort just a few weeks ago (in the GT World Challenge), and he knows well the challenge of navigating the tortuous track with a car that doesn’t feel at home on it. Therefore, Friday’s free sessions proved invaluable, as they allowed the two drivers to gain familiarity with the fast twists and turns.
On Saturday’s qualifying, Buhk handled the red flag that interrupted the session badly and finished 11th. Sprinting from 6th row in the race that followed, the German flew up to 7th and handed the car to Marciello in 8th. The Ticino driver lost two positions due to a pit-stop penalty, and could only manage to win back one, as the narrow track makes overtaking very tough: he finished ninth.
On Sunday’s qualifying Marciello grabbed a fourth place, first among the Mercedes and beaten only by the faster Audis and Lamborghinis. He started the race flawlessly, sprinted up to second, and handed the wheel to Buhk in the same position after 30 minutes. The German fought back his chasers’ attacks and crossed the finish line still in second, obtaining a podium that keeps the Adac GT Masters championship wide open.
Now Marciello can enjoy two weeks of rest as he prepares for one of the most important races of the season: the 24H of Spa-Francorchamps, which will take place on July 31 – August 1st.

SECONDO POSTO PER MARCIELLO IN OLANDA, CAMPIONATO RIAPERTO
Altro week-end di corse per Raffaele Marciello che questa volta è stato impegnato sul circuito di Zandvoort, per il terzo appuntamento dell’Adac GT Masters. Il forte pilota Ticinese, da anni punto di riferimento nelle categorie GT per il marchio Mercedes-AMG, è stato chiamato dal Team Landgraff, per coadiuvare il compagno Maxi Buhk a bordo della giallo Mann-Filter Mercedes AMG GT3 numero 70 . Sul tortuoso tracciato Olandese, che ha visto Raffaele impegnato poche settimane fa in occasione del GT World Challenge, i motori si sono accesi dal Venerdì, per due sessioni di prove libere dove il duo di piloti ha cercato di prendere confidenza con una pista poco incline alle doti naturali di questa vettura, più avvezza ai tracciati con curve veloci.
Sabato mattina, nella prima qualifica del weekend valevole per la gara di Sabato pomeriggio, il Tedesco Buhk non é andato oltre l’undicesima posizione, mal gestendo una bandiera rossa che ha interrotto la sessione. In gara Buhk, partito dalla sesta fila, con un’ottima partenza, é riuscito a risalire sino alla settimana posizione prima di lasciare il volante a Marciello. Raffaele, rientrato in pista in ottava piazza, é poi sceso in decima posizione, dovendo scontare una penalità dovuto ad una irregolarità in termini di tempo minimo imposto durante il pit-stop. In una pista dove é difficile sorpassare, Marciello non ha potuto fare altro che chiudere in nona posizione.
Nella seconda qualifica, quella di domenica mattina, Marciello ha chiuso in quarta posizione, primo tra le vetture Mercedes AMG alle spalle delle veloci Audi e Lamborghini. In gara Marciello, con una partenza perfetta, é riuscito a portarsi in seconda posizione mantenendola sino alla mezz’ora di gara, quando ha lasciato il volante a Buhk. Il Tedesco, entrato in pista, é riuscito confermare la seconda piazza agguantando così un podio che può tenere aperto il campionato Adac GT master ancora lungo.
Finalmente due settimane di pausa per Marciello che tornerà in pista a fine mese per uno degli appuntamenti più importanti della stagione, la 24H di Spa- Francorchamps i prossimi 31 Luglio-1 Agosto.
