ADAC GT MASTERS – NURBURGRING
THE MARCIELLO-BUHK DUO FINISHES FOURTH IN THE ADAC GT MASTERS
With two races to go in the championship, Marciello and Buhk faced the cold and the mist of the German track hoping to fill the 26 points gap separating them from the top of the standings. On Thursday, in the private tests sessions, they tested Team Landgraff’s yellow-green, Mann-Filter sponsored AMG GT3 no 70, and worked hard to adapt to the semi-wet conditions. The next day the temperatures fell further, but the track was dry, and Marciello dominated the free sessions, finishing high in the standings and topping the AMG rivals on the track.
On Saturday’s qualifying Raffaele finished fifth despite obtaining a top time. In the race that followed, he fell back to sixth because of an opponent who tail-spinned in front of him, slowing him down. He fought his way back to fifth and handed the wheel tho Buhk at the end of his half hour stint. The German finished in the same position, ending the duo’s chances of winning the title.
The next day, Buhk only finished eighteenth in qualifying. In the afternoon’s race, he managed to squeeze through the jams and collisions of the beginning phases and fight his way back to tenth. Marciello, still disappointed about seeing his title chances evaporate, went on the offensive, accomplishing a series of impressive overtakings that pushed him up to fourth. Sadly, a collision with an Audi ruined his comeback, and forced the no. 70 back to nineteenth place.
Marciello and Buhk thus finished fourth in the Adac GT Masters – not a bad result considering the complications and surprises that marked the season.
Marciello will now travel to the Kylami track in South Africa, where he will race in the last stage of the InterContinental GT Challenge during the first weekend of December.

TERMINATO IL CAMPIONATO ADAC GT MASTERS: QUARTA POSIZIONE PER IL DUO MARCIELLO-BUHK
Ultimo appuntamento dell’Adac GT Master presso il circuito del Nurburgring. La coppia Marciello-Buhk é giunta sul freddo e nebbioso tracciato Tedesco con un distacco di ventisei punti dalla testa classifica, potendo dunque ancora puntare alla vittoria del campionato, essendovi due gare da disputare all’interno del singolo weekend di gara. La giallo-verde Mercedes AMG GT3 numero 70 sponsorizzata Mann-Filter del Team Landgraff é scesa in pista dal giovedì per un sessione di test privati in cui si é dovuto lavorare sul set up per adattarlo alle condizioni di semi- bagnato presenti in pista.
Dal venerdì, in condizioni sempre di estremo freddo ma quantomeno di asciutto, si é scesi in pista per le due sessioni di prove libere in cui Marciello ha sempre occupato la parte alta della classifica, primeggiando tra le vetture della casa AMG.
Nella qualifica del Sabato, Marciello si é piazzato in quinta posizione, con un distacco davvero risicato rispetto gli avversari in fronte. Nella gara del pomeriggio, il Ticinese in partenza é sfilato in sesta piazza, bloccato da una vettura in testacoda che lo ha rallentato nelle fasi iniziali della gara. Nel corso della prima mezz’ora di gara, Raffaele é riuscito a portarsi in quinta posizione lasciando la vettura al compagno Buhk a mezz’ora dal termine. Il Tedesco ha mantenuto la posizione sino al termine della corsa, chiudendo in quinta piazza e vedendo definitivamente sfumare la possibilità di vincere il titolo.
Domenica mattina, nella seconda qualifica, Buhk non é riuscito ad andare oltre la diciottesima piazza, non riuscendo a sfruttare il momento favorevole della pista per fare il tempo. Nella gara del pomeriggio, il Tedesco Buhk é riuscito a districarsi da numerosi contatti avvenuti in partenza davanti a lui, riuscendo a portarsi in decima posizione. Lasciata la vettura a Marciello, il Ticinese é entrato in pista col coltello tra i denti, compiendo numerosissimi sorpassi che lo hanno portato ad agguantare addirittura la quarta posizione, prima di essere costretto a scivolare nelle retrovie a causa di un contatto nel sorpasso di un’Audi di fronte, danni che hanno fatto chiudere la Mercedes AMG numero 70 in diciannovesima posizione.
Il campionato Adac GT Masters ha visto dunque chiudere la coppia Marciello-Buhk in quarta posizione, bilancio tutto sommato buono considerando i numerosi colpi di scena che hanno alimentato la stagione.
Giunti al termine del campionato ADAC GT Masters, Marciello sarà poi impegnato il primo weekend di Dicembre in Sudafrica per l’ultima gara dell’InterContinental GT Challenge presso il tracciato di Kyalami.
