Trident Motorsport and Marciello together for the 2015 GP2 Series
Trident Motorsport is proud to announce the agreement reached with Raffaele Marciello, who will be behind the wheel of one of the team’s GP2 Series cars for the 2015 season.
Raffaele “Lello” Marciello won the 2013 European Formula 3 Championship and is part of the Ferrari Driver Academy. He has been selected as a third driver by Sauber for 2015 and he already had the chance to test drive a Ferrari F1 car in Abu Dhabi, where he showcased his outstanding talent.
Maurizio Salvadori, Team Principal: “By reaching this agreement, I can say I fulfilled one of the dreams I have been chasing for a long time. The dream of having an extraordinarily capable Italian racer like Raffaele in our GP2 Team. At the same time, I understand that the expectations on him and on the results for 2015 are very high, but I am sure that the technical staff of Trident Motorsport is in condition to deliver Lello with a winning car, and everybody is determined to achieve the goals we have set. We, as Trident, will do our utmost in order to provide our contribution to Lello’s career, as he has the chance to finally bring the Italian banner back to the Formula 1 grids”.
Raffaele Marciello: “I am absolutely delighted for the agreement reached with Trident. I have been able to feel their trust and interest straight away and I really appreciated their attention towards me and my driving style. Given this strong reciprocal interest, I am sure we will be able to work in great harmony with the goal of achieving the best possible results. I know that there is a lot of work to do but, also thanks to the support of Ferrari and FDA, I think we have what it takes to succeed”.

Trident Motorsport e Marciello portano in pista il tricolore
Trident annuncia con grande entusiasmo la definizione dell’accordo con Raffaele Marciello che, per la prossima stagione agonistica, sarà al volante di una delle monoposto GP2 della scuderia italiana.
Raffaele “Lello” Marciello, campione della F3 Europea (stagione 2013), membro della Ferrari Driver Academy, nonché terzo pilota Sauber 2015, ha anche già effettuato un Test nel Novembre scorso ad Abu Dhabi con la Ferrari F1, dimostrando immediatamente un talento fuori dal comune.
Maurizio Salvadori, Team Principal: “Con il raggiungimento di questo accordo posso affermare di aver realizzato uno dei sogni che rincorro da tempo e cioè quello di avere un pilota italiano di straordinarie capacità, come lo è Raffaele, nel nostro Team di GP2. Allo stesso tempo, mi rendo conto che le aspettative su di lui e sui risultati per la stagione a venire siano molto alte, ma sono sicuro che lo staff tecnico di Trident Motorsport è nelle condizioni di fornire a Lello una monoposto vincente ed è assolutamente determinato a raggiungere gli obiettivi prefissati. Tutti noi di Trident faremo il possibile per dare il nostro contributo alla carriera di Lello che potrebbe finalmente riportare un pilota italiano tra le file dei piloti ufficiali F1”.
Raffaele Marciello: “Sono molto contento di questo accordo finalmente raggiunto con Trident.
